AMTECH Chemical essentially started as an R&D company based at the Universiti Teknologi  Malaysia funded through grants totaling RM2.75m from the Government of Malaysia from  2000 to 2003. However, as it develops and secured contracts, it now brings R&D closer to its facilities and  work in collaboration with UTM in Skudai Johor and UTP in Tronoh, Perak and Research  Centres in Hyderabad, India, Software Centre in Yokohama, Japan and Houston, Texas  USA.In doing so, AMTECH Chemical is able to share and elevate its capabilities and at the  same time develop its own research staff capability. AMTECH Chemical will be making huge investments to beef up its laboratory facilities in  Pasir Gudang Johor through formation of an R&D company to spearhead its green and new  products development, higher level testing and more applied research capabilities.
